It all begins with an idea, a study, and a commitment... As birth workers we hold many families as they walk on their new and expansive journeys in parenthood. Birth & Milk Co would like to do the same for you!

Our mentorship program is designed to doula the doula. We will help you walk deeper in understanding while navigating the newness of being a birth worker.

The Birth & Milk Co. Footsteps Mentorship program stands on the pillars of empowerment, building community, personalizing your practice, and enhancing your expertise! There is no one way to move forward and we hope to help you find your path, one footstep at a time.

One on One Sessions

These individual sessions will explore your goals and unique challenges, develop and refine your practice model and values, enhance your doula toolbox and create actionable steps. Our end of session summaries will help keep you on track and accountable to your vision.

On Call Support

While you’re actively supporting families in your work access call and text support. Just as you’re on call for your clients, there’s someone on call for you! Gain timely support in navigating challenging situations when you need it the most.

Join us in person to connect and build community with local birth workers, providers and organizations that support families within the DMV/D.C. Metropolitan area.

You’re not alone!

Birth work cannot be practiced in isolation. Your mentor and other cohort members are here to encourage your growth, supplement your support and knowledge and help you reach your goals. Footsteps Mentorship allows for accountability, paced progression and individualized solutions.

On Call Lifestyle Considerations

  • Yes…All participants must have completed their doula training within the past 5 years and be accepting clients within the next 3 months. Being certified is not a requirement.

  • No, the majority of program activities are hosted online via Zoom and do not require your physical presence. Although, there will be opportunities for in person networking within the DMV/D.C. Metropolitan area.

  • The first cohort will run from March 31st, 2025 to June 30th, 2025. The days of the group sessions will be determined by the group upon acceptance.

The application process consists of 1. Completing this form 2. Submitting a 60 second video introducing yourself and your aspirations as a birth worker and 3. Submitting your proof of doula training completion to info@birthandmilkco.com

The application deadline is on March 24th, 2025.
